Anthony Hopkins Trolls Kim Kardashian’s New “Face Wrap” With Hannibal Lecter Impression

Anthony Hopkins just turned a beauty trend into comedy gold—at Kim Kardashian’s expense.

The Oscar-winning actor shared a video on Instagram where he slipped on Kardashian’s new SKIMS Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap and instantly morphed into his iconic Hannibal Lecter character from The Silence of the Lambs.

“Hello, Kim. I already feel ten years younger. Goodbye. Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner,” Hopkins said, before capping it off with Lecter’s chilling slurp sound. The internet immediately exploded with laughter, dubbing the product the “Lecter wrap.”

What the Wrap Claims vs. What Experts Say

The SKIMS face wrap is marketed as a jawline and neck-tightening tool, made from stretchy fabric infused with collagen yarns. Kardashian has promoted it as a “must-have” that “snatches your little chinny chin chin” and feels comfortable enough to wear around the house or even in bed.

But dermatologists and plastic surgeons aren’t convinced. One expert dismissed the product as “basically just a compression band,” explaining:

  • It won’t create long-term changes to the skin’s structure.

  • True results require fat redistribution or medical procedures, not an overnight mask.

“Don’t waste your money,” one surgeon advised. “Shapewear can make a difference under clothing, but sleeping in this won’t do a thing for your face.”

Viral Backlash and Bigger Questions

Despite the criticism, the wrap sold out on the SKIMS website within 24 hours. Social media, however, wasn’t kind. Some compared the look to a medieval torture device or a hostage disguise. Others used Hopkins’ viral video to poke fun at the product’s design.

Still, some critics raised a more serious point about the beauty industry’s direction. “What if your face doesn’t need to be snatched or lifted?” one influencer asked. “Our uniqueness is what makes us beautiful.”

Others noted that compression wraps like this may have a purpose—but mainly as recovery aids after surgeries like facelifts or liposuction, not as a nightly “anti-aging” miracle.

Fans Divided, Critics Sharp

Kardashian’s loyal followers praised her for bringing a “new kind of innovation” to beauty, but detractors didn’t hold back. One person wrote: “There’s a 16-year-old girl out there thinking she needs to buy this crap.” Another added: “SKIMS—making women feel bad about themselves since 2018.”

For now, Kim insists it’s a staple in her beauty routine. But thanks to Anthony Hopkins, the product may forever be remembered less as a beauty hack—and more as Hannibal Lecter’s latest costume piece.
