The 25-year-old died by euthanasia after 601 days of waiting

Noelia Castillo, a victim of gang rape in Barcelona, had endured unimaginable suffering for years following the assault, a tragedy that left her both physically and emotionally scarred.

After her traumatic ordeal and a failed suicide attempt, Noelia was left paralyzed and in constant pain, which led her to pursue assisted suicide—an option that has been legal in Spain since 2021.

Her father had repeatedly fought against her decision, desperately appealing to courts to prevent her euthanasia, but his efforts were overruled.

This tragic story started back in 2022 when Noelia, a young woman, was gang-raped by three men at a state-supervised center designed for youth at risk.

The horrific event left her deeply traumatized, both mentally and physically, and it was clear that she would never be able to recover the life she once had.

Her suicide attempt followed shortly after, as she jumped from a fifth-floor building in an attempt to end the pain.

But Noelia survived the fall—though her body was forever changed.

Paralyzed from the waist down, she faced a life of chronic pain, a disability she had not asked for, but one she would be forced to endure every day.
