Kip’s Castle is welcoming visitors for its final self-guided tour weekend of the season, offering a rare chance to experience the historic estate beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Guests are invited to explore the first floor of the castle at their own pace, where festive charm fills every corner. The dining room is arranged for a classic holiday feast, while the parlor glows with seasonal greenery, ribbons, and warm decorative touches—creating a magical atmosphere that feels straight out of a winter storybook.
The final tour dates are December 21 and December 26–28, and best of all, admission is completely free.
Kip’s Castle is a striking 9,000-square-foot mansion designed to resemble a medieval Norman fortress. Built in the early 1900s, the castle sits atop First Mountain, spanning 11 scenic acres across both Montclair and Verona. Its elevated position offers sweeping views and a sense of timeless grandeur.
Inside, the castle features 30 uniquely designed rooms, many with vaulted ceilings, stone detailing, and six ornate fireplaces that add to its old-world character. Each space reflects craftsmanship rarely seen today.
Beyond its architecture, Kip’s Castle carries a fascinating and layered history.
