Woman in Military Uniform Intervenes in Forest Assault; Suspects Detained
Authorities are investigating an incident that occurred earlier this week in a wooded area outside the city, where a woman in military uniform intervened during an assault on an elderly man, preventing further harm and leading to the arrest of multiple suspects.
According to preliminary reports, the elderly man was attacked by several individuals while walking through the forest. Witness statements indicate the suspects surrounded the man, knocked him to the ground, and demanded money while repeatedly kicking him.
The situation escalated until a woman, later identified as an active-duty military service member, approached the scene and ordered the attackers to stop.
“At first, the suspects appeared surprised,” a law-enforcement source said. “They then began making inappropriate remarks toward the woman and attempted to intimidate her.”
Despite verbal harassment and one suspect physically grabbing her arm, the woman reportedly remained calm and focused on assisting the injured man. When one of the attackers attempted to restrain her, she defended herself using close-combat techniques.
“The confrontation lasted less than a minute,” officials said. “Several suspects were incapacitated before they fled the area.”
The woman then provided first aid to the elderly victim and contacted emergency services. Police units arrived shortly afterward and apprehended the suspects nearby based on descriptions and evidence from the scene.
Authorities later confirmed that the woman is a trained military instructor with extensive field experience. The elderly man was treated for minor injuries and is expected to recover fully.
Law-enforcement officials praised the woman’s actions, stating that her intervention likely prevented serious injury or worse.
“This incident highlights the importance of public courage and proper training,” a police spokesperson said. “Her quick response made a critical difference.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and charges against the suspects are pending.
