Micheál Neeson Was Only 13 When He Lost His Beloved Mother Natasha Richardson

The love story between Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson was one straight out of Hollywood, filled with passion, family, and heartbreak. Wanting to keep his mother close, he also made the decision to change his last name from Neeson to Richardson.

“It was mainly like a homage to my mother, a way to carry her with me,” Micheál told The Times.

The gesture moved Liam Neeson profoundly. “It was a lovely gesture,” he said. “Natasha’s family, her mother and sisters, were very touched by it. I’m proud of it.”

In recent years, Micheál has even shared the screen with his father, appearing alongside him in projects such as Cold Pursuit and Made in Italy. Through his work, he not only carves out his own identity in the acting world but also keeps his mother’s legacy alive.
