In a moment that shocked both parents and medical professionals, a Pennsylvania mother captured her newborn daughter displaying strength and abilities far beyond what’s expected of a baby just days old.
Samantha Mitchell, 34, was still adjusting to life with her newborn, Nyilah Daise Tzabari, when she witnessed something she could hardly believe. At just three days old, Nyilah was not only holding her head up but also crawling forward — milestones that typically don’t occur until babies are six to nine months old.
“I’ve been around kids for over 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Mitchell told Kennedy News.
A Remarkable Beginning
Born three weeks overdue at 43 weeks and weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 6 ounces, Nyilah was already showing unusual strength. On March 2, 2023, Mitchell’s own mother encouraged her to record the incredible moment so that others would believe it.
“No one would have believed me otherwise,” Mitchell explained. “Even her dad, Ofer, wasn’t there at the time, so I knew I had to film it.”
In the now-viral clip, tiny Nyilah props herself up on her arms, steadies her head, and crawls across the surface. Viewers were stunned — many pointing out that most babies don’t even begin attempting such feats until several months into life.
Ahead of Her Time
The surprises didn’t stop there. At just 18 days old, Nyilah was already rolling from her belly to her back. By two months, she could flip from back to belly. At only three months old, she’s already standing with support, leaving Mitchell convinced she’ll walk much earlier than expected.
“She doesn’t want to sit down,” Mitchell said with a laugh. “We’re not even encouraging her to stand yet, but she insists on keeping her legs straight. She’s incredibly determined.”
Even her communication skills appear advanced. At six weeks old, Nyilah began mimicking sounds, attempting to repeat words like “I love you,” and even responding to laughter by making playful noises of her own.
Viral Sensation
When Mitchell and Tzabari uploaded the video to TikTok, it quickly blew up, gathering over 6.6 million likes. Comments poured in, many joking that Nyilah was wise beyond her years.
“She’ll have a job by next week at this rate!” one user teased, while another joked, “That baby’s been here before and has unfinished business!”
For new dad Ofer, the experience was especially eye-opening. “At first, I thought all newborns did this,” he admitted. “It wasn’t until people started reacting that I realized just how unusual it was.”
A Baby Full of Surprises
Despite the attention, Mitchell says Nyilah is still just a happy, smiley baby who amazes them every single day.
“She’s already showing us she’s strong-willed,” Mitchell said. “We can’t wait to see what she does next.
