Mom Believes She Saw the ‘Hand of God’ Holding Her Baby in Ultrasound
A Kentucky mother says she witnessed a miracle during a routine ultrasound — an image she believes shows “God’s hand” gently holding her unborn son’s head.
Amanda Foster, 33, shared the ultrasound photo with her family and friends on social media, calling it proof that her prayers had been answered.
Back in April 2022, during an earlier pregnancy, Amanda had posted with relief that her baby boy, Jay, showed “healthy kidneys, no cysts, and perfect blood flow.” For her, it was an answered prayer after years of fear.
A History of Loss
Amanda’s worry about Potter syndrome — a rare and often fatal condition that impacts kidney development — came from painful experience. At just 17 years old, she lost her first child, Xavier, to the disorder at 20 weeks.
The grief nearly crushed her. “At that time, I thought, ‘If God is going to take my son, He might as well take me too,’” she later admitted. Though her faith faltered, she eventually went on to welcome two healthy daughters with her husband, Kyle, and finally their son Jay in August 2022.
Another Scare
Now expecting another boy, whom they’ve named Kyler, Amanda once again found herself facing terrifying news. Doctors discovered a serious aortic abnormality during early scans, leaving his survival uncertain.
With every appointment, Amanda prayed — sometimes right there in the exam room. “I’ve asked the Lord over and over to keep His hand on my baby,” she wrote. “And to help me trust His plan no matter the outcome.”
The Moment That Stopped Her Heart
At a late May ultrasound, Amanda brought along her daughter Bailey for comfort. But instead of easing her nerves, the visit left her speechless.
On the screen, Bailey pointed out something unusual: what looked like a hand cradling Kyler’s tiny head.
Amanda was overcome. “I cried right there,” she wrote. “It felt like a reminder of all God has done for me, and all He continues to do. I couldn’t imagine my life without Him.”
Waiting for Kyler
Just weeks later, Amanda posted an update: at 36 weeks, Kyler already weighed over seven pounds — her biggest baby yet. “Our chunky boy is practicing his breathing,” she shared proudly, noting his strong heart rate and healthy progress.
For Amanda, the ultrasound image isn’t just a medical scan. It’s a symbol of hope, healing, and faith after years of heartbreak.
