Trump Posts AI-Generated Clip of Obama Being Arrested

Former President Donald Trump has stirred controversy by sharing an AI-created video that appears to show Barack Obama being handcuffed and detained by FBI agents.

The video begins with a montage of Obama, alongside other prominent Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, stating the phrase, “No one is above the law.” The scene then cuts to what looks like a recreated Oval Office setting from January 2017, during the presidential transition period between Obama and Trump.

In the clip, agents wearing FBI jackets approach Obama, pull him from his seat, and place him in handcuffs on the floor—all to the soundtrack of the Village People’s disco anthem “YMCA.” A bold headline flashes on screen: “No One Is Above the Law.”

Later in the video, Obama is shown wearing an orange prison jumpsuit behind bars. The footage was originally uploaded to Trump’s Truth Social account.

The Political Context

Trump’s post comes amid a media blitz from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who recently shared new documents related to “Crossfire Hurricane”—the federal investigation into alleged coordination between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russian operatives.

One such document, newly declassified and published last Friday, reveals that top U.S. intelligence officials under Obama had serious reservations about claims that Russia significantly interfered in the 2016 election.

The memo, dating back to 2016, stated that “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent U.S. election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure.” While acknowledging attempted breaches, such as those involving Illinois voter registration systems, the memo concluded that these incidents had no tangible effect on the election outcome.

“Targeted systems were not used in actual ballot casting,” the memo explained. “Therefore, it’s highly improbable these activities could have altered any official results.”

Vindication for Trump and Renewed Scrutiny on Investigators

This disclosure aligns with Trump’s longstanding claim that the Russian interference narrative was pushed by Clinton allies and Obama-era intelligence officials to delegitimize his win.

The focus is now shifting toward potential legal consequences for figures like former CIA Director John Brennan and ex-FBI Director James Comey. Investigators are reviewing whether Brennan deliberately withheld elements of the Crossfire Hurricane probe and pushed for the inclusion of the debunked Steele dossier, which contained unverified allegations tying Trump to Russian operatives.

According to current CIA Director John Ratcliffe, internal analysts allege that Brennan failed to properly share intelligence findings with other agencies and advocated for incorporating false claims into official assessments.

In response, a 200-page audit has been compiled after a closed-door meeting between Department of Justice and intelligence officials. There is now active discussion about whether to release further classified materials—such as meeting transcripts and notes from both Crossfire Hurricane and special counsel John Durham’s investigation, which ultimately concluded in 2023 that the Trump–Russia collusion allegations were baseless.
