Dies at 80 Following Heartbreaking Diagnosis

Australian music and film icon Bobby Bright has passed away in Melbourne at the age of 80, following a three-year battle with lung cancer.

Born in England, Bright relocated to Australia when he was just nine years old and went on to build an extraordinary career spanning more than fifty years in the entertainment industry.

He rose to fame through his enduring musical collaboration with Laurie Allen, forming the beloved duo Bobby & Laurie in 1964—a partnership that became a staple of Australia’s pop scene during the 1960s.
