SAD UPDATE: Just Moments Ago, Will Smith Spoke Out — Here’s What Happened

On the latest episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith gave viewers an inside look at a very personal health milestone: undergoing her first colonoscopy. Joined by her mom, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, her son, Jaden Smith, and a team of medical professionals, the episode highlighted the importance of gut health and regular screenings.

In a lighthearted behind-the-scenes moment shared with PEOPLE, the 50-year-old actress appeared groggy but cheerful as she recovered from the procedure. “I actually feel really good,” she said with a dazed smile. “Still a little woozy from the anesthesia, but overall, really relaxed.”

Laughing with her family, Jada joked, “Having a camera go up your behind is definitely a strange experience,” before admitting she initially felt nervous. “I had a small panic when it started, but honestly, it was so smooth. I want people to know—this process is easier than you think. And I feel amazing now that it’s done.”

This wasn’t the first time the Smith family opened up publicly about colon health. Back in 2019, Will Smith himself underwent a colonoscopy and filmed the entire journey. During the exam, doctors discovered a precancerous polyp. Will later uploaded the experience to YouTube in a 17-minute video, which has since been viewed nearly 4 million times.

“I thought I was just making a fun vlog,” he said at the time. “But it turned out to be a potentially life-saving decision.”

Their openness continues to raise awareness and encourage others to prioritize their health.
